HazCom 2012 (Hazard Communication Standard 2012 aligned with GHS) online training was developed in accordance with the federally legislated Hazard Communication Standard. The US Department of Labor's Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) issued & enforces the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1900.1200) to protect workers from the hazards of chemicals used in the workplace. The standard was revised in 2012 to align with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification & Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
The HazCom standard regulates the evaluation & classification of hazardous chemicals that are produced or imported into the United States, and ensures that all relevant health & safety information is communicated to employers and employees to allow for safe use and handling of hazardous chemicals in the workplace. It is your responsibility as a worker to meet the requirement for employee information and training regarding the hazards of chemicals in the workplace. On-site specific training is also required.
